Big Sexy Hair Products
From LoveToKnow Hair
Any type of hair style can be attractive, and Big Sexy Hair products make the full, voluptuous look alluring as well as easy to achieve, regardless of your hair condition or type.
About Big Sexy Hair Products
Big Sexy is part of the Sexy Hair Concepts family of products, which also includes Curly Sexy, Healthy Sexy, Straight Sexy, Short Sexy, Silky Sexy, and Simply Sexy. Each line works with a specific hair condition or type to maximize its appeal while minimizing the hassle to create the best styles.
Founded by hair styling sensation and two time world champion stylist Michael O’Rourke, the Sexy Hair product family was first introduced as Ecoly International in 1992. O’Rourke drew on his years of experience in South Africa to formulate products with wide appeal, and in 2000 he re-branded the lines under the Sexy Hair label, a move that drew instant success. His philosophy is to create and market products that encourage a reaction, and the idea of “sexy” styles is one of the most successful campaigns in hair styling today. In fact, Katharine McPhee from American Idol became the company’s spokesperson in July 2006, creating a commercial partnership with tremendous appeal for trendy and stylish hair.
Big Sexy Hair products, in particular, work to create full, thick hair with maximum volume without being weighted down or stiff from chemical enhancements. The tag line, “it’s always better when it’s bigger” epitomizes the products’ philosophy of big hair that is simultaneously appealing and attractive.
Types of Products
There are several different types of products in the Big Sexy line to meet different hair styling needs. They include:
- Volumizing shampoo
- Detangling conditioner
- Hair spray, gel, and mousse for different styling and hold levels
- Non-aerosol thickening sprays to boost hair strand diameters
- Wet and dry application styling products
- Shine sprays to enhance hair’s luster
Depending on the specific product, different hair needs are met, such as:
- Lightweight, non-sticky and non-greasy formulas to keep hair touchable and soft with natural movement
- Color protectants for color-treated hair
- Anti-frizz and anti-static formulas to create smooth, sleek volume
- Humidity resistance to keep hair from growing limp with long wear
- Moisturizers to combat the added dryness from extra volume and keep hair fresh and silky
- Different levels of hold to suit either fine, thin hair or thick, unruly hair
Natural Ingredients
No Big Sexy Hair products are tested on animals, and many items in the product line incorporate natural ingredients for their gentle yet effective results. Chamomile, lavender, aloe, clove, yarrow and wheat proteins can be found in a number of Big Sexy products, and when combined with light fragrances and soothing textures, provide an exemplary experience for hair. This is especially remarkable when many volumizing products rely on harsh chemicals and stiff results to give hair form and shape, but O’Rourke’s products reflect his South African experience with natural techniques for phenomenal results.
Where to Buy Big Sexy Hair Products
Big Sexy products are only found in authorized salons, including both large chains such as Trade Secret or SmartStyle (located in WalMart stores), as well as independent salons. From their headquarters in Chatsworth, California, Big Sexy products can be found in more than 60,000 salons across more than 25 nations. To help eliminate unauthorized selling of designer products, the Sexy Hair company encourages patrons to report illegitimate dealers through their website. Unauthorized products may have been tampered with, diluted, or otherwise altered and are not guaranteed by the company.

What did they smell like? my mom had bought big bottles of this i think in a red bottle and different formulas in big white bottles .. and the white bottled stuff every one thought smelled like green beans haha .. i havent used this stuff in a long while it was about 4 years ago or more
-- Contributed by: amandaI bought these products just yesterday and used them this morning in the shower. I think the products hold true to what they say; however; the scent of the product was a big turn off. They just didn't smell good, at all. The price is too much to not use them, but I won't buy them again because of the smell.
