Fall Hair Trend
From LoveToKnow Hair
Making the transition from hot to cool weather is easy with a few essentials in your beauty repertoire: everything from the right clothes to a selection of fall hair trend ideas to carry you through the season in style are absolutely crucial in ensuring you finish the year in style!
The Hottest Fall Hair Trend Tips
Right now you're probably just happy to keep your hair off your neck and face as you wage war with uncomfortable temperatures and intense humidity. High ponytails, messy buns and loose braids all rule supreme during the summer, but fall is when chic hairstyles really come back into play. With the stifling weather out of the way, hair is much less inclined to frizz up, turn into a ratty mess or just lie flat.
That's only part of what makes fall hairstyles so intriguing, though. There's plenty of variety to be found in the collection of glamorous, flattering looks, with something to suit everyone.
They're even destined to be big in Hollywood and on the runways, according to stylist Guy Riggio at the Serge Normant at John Frieda Salon in Los Angeles. "This fall is about high fashion and looking polished, sharp and luxurious," he says. He predicts these trends will really take the industry by storm when the temperatures drop!
Low Ponytails
While summer may have found you pulling your hair up and back, fall is all about the low, sleek ponytail. The look is clean, minimal and fuss-free. If your hair is on the thicker, unrulier side, you may need to run some product through your hair to keep it under control, such as a frizz-fighting serum or styling cream.
Start by pulling your hair back, leaving just a small section free. Secure the hair with a clear elastic band or one that's the same color as your hair. Next, take the small section of hair that's still loose and wrap it around the elastic band, securing it with a bobby pin. Spritz your hair with a light hairspray, such as Got2b Smooth Operator, which provides hold while keeping your tresses soft and manageable.
This style transitions beautifully from the office to happy hour, and is so quick and easy to pull together that there's almost no risk of suffering a bad hair day. If you're headed to a fancy event, add a decorative pin to the elastic band instead of wrapping your hair around it.
Braids
This style is less about emulating Heidi and more about expressing your bohemian side. It's light, relaxed and fun, yet requires a bit more effort than a ponytail. In order to sport this style, simply begin creating braids of various thicknesses around the sides and back of the head. Don't worry if it looks slightly unkempt – that's the secret to this style's beauty. Leave some wisps of hair loose around the face. Then twist the braids and wrap them around each other to form a sturdy bun, making sure to gather the loose hair wisps in as well. Secure the bun with bobby bins.
Full Hair
Big, bouncy curls or waves are stunning at any time of year, but they're especially sexy as fall rolls around. They suggest power, glamour and femininity wrapped up into one killer style. To achieve it, you'll need the tool of your choice. It can be a set of hot rollers (which may take some time, but will pump up your locks with volume and fullness like nothing else), a hairdryer and round brush or a large barrel curling iron. The latter may be the quickest to work with if you don't have someone helping you out. Full locks also look fabulous pulled slightly back for a dressy twist on the look. Fasten it with a jeweled clip for a style that's devastatingly glamorous and sure to turn heads.
Flat Ironed Hair
Imagine the smoothest, sleekest, most gleaming tresses possible and you'll have some idea of what's on tap for fall. Stick straight, manageable and so shiny, the flat ironed look begins with blowdrying. Apply a bit of styling cream or heat protecting spray to the hair prior to drying. Next, use a ceramic flat iron to get those locks as straight as possible. Finish up with a few drops of a glossing product, such as Jonathan Product Polishing Gloss. It lends the hair brilliant luster without any buildup left behind.
Easy and Polished
If there's any word to describe the styles sure to dominate the runways and the real world this fall, it's polished. The looks are all indescribably chic, yet they're simple to achieve with just a bit of effort. There's no doubt that these fall hair trend tips will prepare you for your most glamorous season yet!
