Free Shampoo Samples
From LoveToKnow Hair
Before you head out in search of some new hair care products, take a peek online and see if you can score some free shampoo samples. You'll be surprised at just how many are available for the taking!
Why Should I Sample Shampoo?
Samples of beauty products are everywhere these days. Companies are constantly introducing innovative, new products, and they recognize that consumers are much more likely to invest in something if they have a chance to try it for a reasonable period of time.
Hair care product samples are incredibly easy to find. A quick search will reveal a number of different products available in sample sizes, ranging from shampoos and conditioners to gels and mousses. Sampling is just a great way to get a feel for a product before splurging on the regular size version. You'll have the opportunity to determine whether or not it works for you. No use wasting money, right?
Finding Free Shampoo Samples
The internet is teeming with websites dedicated to the almighty free sample hunt. Many shampoo samples are packaged in small bottles, usually weighing in at one ounce. For individuals with long hair, this may be just enough for a single wash, but those with shorter hair may be able to squeeze out extra uses.
Other samples are packaged in slim packets, which typically hold just under an ounce of product. You might find these packets attached inside magazines (note that you're more likely to get magazine samples like these if you're a subscriber – newsstand issues rarely contain them), or you might receive them directly from the company via mail. Often, they're included with full-size products as part of a special promotion.
A Minor Disadvantage
If you sign up for a product sample online, you'll probably encounter some fine print which dictates that you allow the company to send you promotional mailings in the future. Usually there is a choice to opt in or out of these mailings, so you're not automatically stuck with an inbox or mailbox full of unwanted mail. However, in some cases, companies do not offer this option. If this occurs and you definitely don't want to receive any promotional mail from the company, be sure to unsubscribe (legally, all companies must offer this option in their emails).
If you do opt in, you'll receive everything from coupons and new product announcements to basic advertisements and discount opportunities.

Other Uses for Samples
If you find yourself suddenly drowning in samples of all kinds, consider using them for other purposes instead of filling your shower with bottles and packets galore. Add them to a care package for a college student living away from home, use them while traveling, or donate a box full of them to someone who is truly in need. Many schools have charity drives and will accept sample sized products, or local homeless or women’s shelters may be able to put them to good use.
You may find yourself addicted to sampling hair care products once your mailbox begins to fill up! Keep a close eye on the sites where you find the best free shampoo samples and you'll always have something new to try.
