One magazine loves it, another entertainment news program loathes it, the general public laughs at it…you get the picture. It's usually some variation of love, hate, or indifference, with the occasional breakthrough trendy hair style that manages to appeal to everyone.
Men, though, don't receive the same level of interest in anything associated with their style. Tuxedos, when all is said and done, are inherently rather similar, and shoes don't usually inspire throngs of men to rush to the store the morning after a major awards show to grab a pair for themselves. Hair, on the other hand, is one of the few traits that is noticed immediately. Most male celebrities sport very typical hairstyles, though for every run-of-the-mill hairdo, there is one that stands out in the crowd.

Some of these men have remained faithful to a particular style for years. Others are quick-change artists who adopt new looks every few weeks. Some sacrifice vanity in the name of a film role that calls for shoulder-length locks or wild curly hair. Others opt for a closely-shorn cut when the weather heats up. George Clooney
He's sported everything from a casual, sexy wave to an intriguing Caesar style. Each of George Clooney's hairstyles has been met with great fanfare, no doubt partially due to his title as People's Sexiest Man of the Year. His laid-back men’s hair cut is groomed to perfection, yet there's still an air of scruffy charm to it. This look relies on a simple cut and thick hair. Clooney's own hair is naturally wavy, so a shorter cut keeps it straight and neat.
Justin Timberlake
Justin Timberlake once sported a head full of curls as one of 'N Sync's leading men. Now he's a successful solo artist and actor who worked his way through a buzz cut and close-cut curls before bringing sexy back with his "fohawk." The fohawk (or faux hawk), with its signature miniature-size center spike, is popular amongst celebrities, and is a tamer variation of the punk mohawk.
Brad Pitt
He's been around for years, so it would be a shame if Brad Pitt hadn't changed his hairstyle at least once or twice! Fortunately, Pitt has made a habit of surprising the public with a variety of looks and hair colors. Some, like the short, spiky, youthful cut, have been met with great enthusiasm, while others, like the long, straggly locks and beard, raised brows. He's a man who's unafraid of a little change, though, and his styles have proven as much over the years.
Orlando Bloom
Thick and slightly wavy, Orlando Bloom's hair has shown how easily it adapts to a variety of hairstyles. From the long mane seen in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy to the boyishly short 'do, to the sexy, tousled waves, there's nothing Bloom can't pull off with panache.
Ashton Kutcher
Ashton Kutcher's hair is expertly styled, yet the end result is simple, casual and extra-tousled, lending it a youthful look. Kutcher employs layers, light feathering and even bangs to achieve his signature hairstyle. It's unlike other male celebrity hairstyles, namely because the look is so free and allows so much movement, thanks to the layers.
Sanjaya Malakar
More infamous for his stint on the sixth season of American Idol than anything else, Sanjaya Malakar did manage to win one competition: most popular hairstyle. With his penchant for the unusual and unexpected and his ability to pull off just about any style with a smile on his face, Malakar inspired a few long-haired guys to add some life to their own locks. Whether he sports a slicked back ponytail, shows off his thick locks and smooth bangs or rocks a head full of curls, he wears the style well.
