Solia Hair Styling
From LoveToKnow Hair
Solia hair styling products are unique to the beauty industry because many inferior heat-styling products upset the delicate hair shaft, resulting in damaged strands and diminished shine. The Solia flat iron uses patented technology to reduce the amount of cuticle damage while maintaining professional styling results.
Solia Hair Styling Technology
Flat irons that use metal plates do not possess the ability to distribute heat evenly. Therefore, hair can be severely burned during the styling process. Solia flat irons are equipped with Ceramic/Tourmaline plates that not only boosts the ability to produce shinier healthier-looking hair, the plates also emit both far-infrared heat and large amounts of negative ions. The combination of infrared heat and negative ions nearly eradicate the possibility of heat damage while granting hair a frizz-free image. Far-infrared heat also penetrates the hair shaft and serves to lock in both moisture and color. This makes the patented Solia technology ideal for over-processed and color-treated hair.
Autosense Technology
Solia irons boast the presence of patented Autosense Technology, which consists of a reliable ceramic heat sensor. The Autosense feature produces and maintains an even instant heat. This is important because many inferior flat irons will actually increase in heat while they remain plugged into an outlet, resulting in burns and unpredictable results. The temperature of Solia products is controlled by the user, and the iron is also outfitted with a LED indicator that blinks rapidly when the product is charged and ready for use.
Dynamic Alignment System
In order to eliminate any localized hot spots that can damage the hair, Solia hair styling products feature a Dynamic Alignment System. This system relies on the self-adjusting properties of the ceramic plates and provides flawless contact between the plates and the hair. Moreover, styling occurs smoothly without any pulling of the hair.
Sizes and Styling Options
Solia hair styling products consist of four flat-iron sizes, each offering their own specialized styling advantages. The size refers to the width of the ceramic plate and not the actual length of the iron. These plate sizes include:
| Size | Hair Length | Styling Options |
| 3/4 inch | Short | Create curls, waves, or straight hair |
| 1 inch | All lengths | Loose curls, waves, or straight hair |
| 1-1/4 inch | All lengths | Used mostly for straightening, loose waves, and bangs |
| 1-3/4 inch | Medium to long | Straightening |
Three-quarter Inch Plate
The three-quarter inch plate is the smallest available size, and it presents users with a vast amount of styling possibilities. The iron can be employed on both short hair and bangs, and it can be used to create waves and curls as well as silky straight hair. This product functions as both a straightener and a curling iron.
One Inch Plate
The single inch plate is the second smallest available size and it is the most versatile of the sizes. Though it is not quite as easy to wield for curl and wave techniques as its three-quarter inch companion, the one-inch plate can style all types of hair and may be preferable for consumers with more broad styling needs. This model is also offered in a much-coveted limited Pink Solia Flat Iron edition and can be purchased directly from Folica.com through February, 2007.
One and One-quarter Inch Plate
The 1 1/4 inch plate is hailed as the “most popular” size amongst the Solia hair styling products. It is used for all lengths of hair and remains narrow enough for the styling of bangs.
One and Three-quarter Inch Plate
The 1 3/4 inch plate is the largest of the available sizes, and it is ideal for medium to long hair. It is also intended for hair that remains difficult or unresponsive to most straightening attempts.
Styling Considerations
It is recommended that users who suffer from bleached, fragile, damaged, and/or fine hair use the flat iron on settings below 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, people with healthy thick, ethnic, and resistant hair should consider using the flat iron on maximum heat, which consists of settings above 370 degrees Fahrenheit. Using the iron on high settings will produce quicker, more efficient results. All four models of Solia hair styling products are usable on wet, damp or dry hair.

Shilo - You'll want to use a nice moisturizing conditioner to help keep the hair healthy. Also consider one with anti-frizz properties to keep the style sleek. There are several brands available; you should try a couple of different ones to see what works best for your daughter's hair.
