I have curly slightly coarse natural hair. Sometimes after I wash it I leave the conditioner in because it keeps it soft, but when it dries it gets hard and crunchy. Are there any products that will keep my hair soft, manageable, and minimize the frizz that I can leave in and not have to wash out daily? Please help!

Hi L,

Make sure the conditioner you're using is good quality -- you may want to try a salon brand designed for coarse hair if you can afford it. Use a good leave-in conditioner as well. Look for products that are de-frizzing or smoothing compounds, but avoid those with high alcohol content (as some laminating sprays have) -- this will only dry your hair out more. Matrix offers a variety of curl-defining products, including an intensive conditioner, contouring milk, and contouring cream. Good luck!

I am having trouble sporting my natural hair. I just cut it a few months ago and it is taking a really long time to grow. It is also very hard and dry (even though I put in conditioner everyday) to the touch and partly curly and afro-ish...like it is not making up it's mind. I have tried several products but they are not working. What can I do to soften up my hair and bring out the curls a little more? Please help me out!!!
