-- Contributed by: MayntzNic - If your hair is very thin, getting twists may mean pulling the hair much too tight which would cause damage and additional thinning. You should consult a stylist who is very experienced with African American hair and ask to see a portfolio of their work and get their recommendations for your hair style.

-- Contributed by: MayntzMy bf wants to get his hair braided but it's only about 1-1/2 to 2 inches long. Is that enough length to get cornrows? or micro braids?
-- Contributed by: DeeMel -- Yes, twists could work for you, or you may want to try a small, light verson of dreadlocks. Work with a stylist who knows the tricks to natural styles, and you'll be sure to find one you love!
-- Contributed by: MayntzI'm an African American man with long hair. I don't want to cut my hair, don't want to use any chemicals, and am tired of braids. I want to try a new hair-style. Something like a long-curly style...sort of like Corbin Bleu's hair. How can I achieve such a style without using chemicals? Could twists be my answer?

-- Contributed by: Amy FinleyHi Myck, If your is soft and you have difficulty getting it braided, you may want to consider a natural style - there are many natural styles that look very attractive on men. Certain hair products can add texture to the hair which may aid in braiding, but having a professional stylist prepare and braid the hair may be well-worth it to prevent damage and to help you achieve the look you want. Best of luck!
