Sali - Everyone's hair can react differently to different products. First, be sure your hair is healthy to begin with -- eat a diet for healthy hair, drink plenty of water, and use conditioner regularly. Then, opt for a high quality dye product and follow the instructions closely to avoid mishaps when coloring your hair, or opt for a salon consultation and coloring job. Best wishes!

-- Contributed by: saliLewisee - Whether Blonde Hair is right for your or not depends on a lot of things -- see Right Hair Color for You to see if it's a good shade for your eyes and skin. If your highlights are fading a bit, you should be able to dye over them without too much trouble, but be aware that some subtle variations may be visible. If you're nervous about it, see a professional stylist.
-- Contributed by: Mayntzdo you think that dying my hair blonde is a good thing to do, if ive gott highlighted hair already, and should i make it 1 color before doing this?
-- Contributed by: lewiseeLewisee - Yes, men can get hair highlights, but it is less common. Adding blonde highlights to brown hair can liven up your style, and you might also consider hair lowlights shades as a more subtle alternative.
-- Contributed by: Mayntzishighlighting hair good for men also; i have brown hair and do you thyink getting highlgihts for it is a good option?
-- Contributed by: lewiseeTracy - You may be choosing a color that is too much lighter than your natural shade. Ideally, highlights should only be 1-2 shades lighter than your hair, and when they grow out the different shades won't be as noticeable.
-- Contributed by: MayntzI have naturally blonde hair and get blonde highlights every 8-10 weeks. Usually by this time my hair looks black at the roots and underneath the hair when it starts to get greasy. I was thinking about getting an overall blonde colour with highlights as well, what do you think i could to, it just starts to look dirts when highlights start to grow out.
-- Contributed by: TracyLoulilou - You'll want to get highlights that go well with your skin tone as well as your hair color. Golden tones go well with most blonde hair, but if you have pale skin you'll want a paler type of highlight for a more natural look. Check out Hair Highlights and Hair Highlights Gallery for more information.
-- Contributed by: MayntzI have dirty-blonde hair and want to get highlights. I do not know what color to get. what colors are good for my hair and how or where can I get a list of the colors so i can choose
-- Contributed by: LoulilouMissy - It sounds as if you may have washed your hair too soon, or else the red formula has been changed. If the pink color doesn't come out after another wash, your only recourse may be to go back to the salon, but if it is an error in something they did, you may be able to get a discounted (or free) touch up to correct the color. Ask politely, and see what happens!
-- Contributed by: MayntzI just got my hair colored red with blonde highlights. This is how I have been doing my hair for quite a while. After I washed my hair this time my highlights turned pink! How can i get the pink off the blonde without hving to go to the salon?
-- Contributed by: MissyMarjie - I'd suggest adding some ash blonde highlights that will help blend with your white/gray so it's a bit more hidden and it will also help lighten your hair overall. Don't try to go too light, which can make your uneven skin even more noticeable. You could also add some lowlights at the same time for more interesting color without as drastic of a change.
-- Contributed by: Mayntzokay, so i have horribly ruddy skin and ash dark brown hair that just is boring!!! I am also getting a few white and gray hairs, so I would love highlights or color but I am not sure what direction to go. Help?
-- Contributed by: marjieBonnie - If you have a red undertone to your skin and darker hair, you'll want to try warm blonde highlight tones such as honey, amber, and sunset shades. That should lighten your hair somewhat without going overboard or clashing with your complexion.
-- Contributed by: MayntzHi, I have colored my hair for the past 30 years. I don't even know my true color. If I had to guess it would be dark blonde. The yukky kind. I have used warm and cool tones and don't know what to go with. I have hazel/green eyes. And defintely red undertone skin. I want to highlight and low light, but don't know where to begin. Please help.!
-- Contributed by: BonnieHi Mardi, i have natuarally medium brunette hair, greyish eyes and light/medium skin tone. I have had bleach highlights put in. They look fine but because i straighten my hair the front bits have started to snap off and it looks really unhealthy. I already use Redken Deep fuel treatment but its not really working. What do you recommend? Would tint be any better for me?
-- Contributed by: RACHELHi Mardi -- from what you describe of your skin and eye color, blonde (especially a darker hue) would probably suit you very well. You'd probably do best with a subtle type of highlight, just a couple of shades different from the base color. Do you blush easily? If so, consider yourself a "warmer" skin tone and go for richer hues. Have fun!
-- Contributed by: MayntzI have naturally dark brown hair, blue eyes...my skin is very white but i tan easily. I want to get my hair coloured dark blonde...would this suit me and what colour highlights should i get?
