Bre - See Black Hair Updos and Micro Braids for more style ideas. For prom, you can always jazz up your style with a fun hair accessory such as glittery pins or a flower to make it extra special. Also see Prom Hair Updos for ideas. Best wishes!

Seraiah -- You're right, caucasians typically don't need as much extra oil or moisturizers; in fact, they may have too much natural oil production, but everyone's hair is different and a professional evaulation is best to determine if extra treatment may be needed.

Caucasians would probably not need to add any oil or oil sheen to their scalp like an african american would.

For your Hair not to have flakes while its braided you need to make sure u have a generous amonut of oil or you can uses oil sheen in your hair after or before the braids (but its better to do it after)
