Thanks for sharing your tips, Megan, you have some excellent advice!

I chose clip in extensions from 100% Remi Human Hair mainly because I go to the gym a lot and the sweat could cause glue in extensions/braid in extensions to slip out. Plus, you don't get to wash your hair as often! (ew!) So I go to the gym, pop out the extensions, and wash my hair regularly. Super convienent and they look real!

Kelly - Clip on hair extensions won't damage your hair if they're used properly. Be sure they fit well in your hair but don't tug on it too much, and don't overstyle them when it can damage your real hair.

Lala - Really high quality hair extensions are indistinguishable from your real hair, but most clip on extensions aren't meant to give you quite that much extra length. You'll want to consult a stylist who is experienced with extensions to see just how much length they'll be able to give you. Best wishes!

Could you tell me if clip in hair extensions damage and break your hair?

Hey, i recently got my hair cut short for band camp and it'll take 2years to grow it to where i really want it, waist length.. I really just wanna know if it would be possible to get clip ins and conceal them in my chin-length hair.. My hair is rather thick so i think itll hide them but i still want some reassurance that no one will be able to see my extensions...

Thanks for sharing your experiend, Jeans - it's true that for shorter hair, clip on extensions are more noticeable, though full professional hair extenions can still be an option because they're attached more meticulously.

My daughter has long hair so the 18" clip on extensions work well for her and blends with her hair. I purchased 14" for me for my shoulder blade length hair and can not get them to blend. I think they add length to already long hair or to makes long hair thicker. Short hair just doesn't work and you will find "how to" videos on line that are all on long hair. I am yet to see a video how to on short hair.

Check ebay you can buy them custom ordered to match your exact style. Or check NoelleSalonProducts I love mine. I have relaxed hair and it was hard to match. Check ebay under "hair extensions for relaxed hair"

Maricela - There should be instructions with either the extensions or the clips, or else you can search the manufacturer's websites for details on how to create the best look with those materials.

Crish - You can practice with the hairpieces to find the right kind of look for you, or you can go back to the retailer and have them help you find a nice style. Many times the salespeople are very helpful and willing to work with you to achieve what you want to do with the style. Best wishes!

I had my hair cut in 2005 because of a bad car accident. They had to cut it to get into my brain to save my life.It still won't grow long. So I bought a full wig and a pony. I love the pony more. I want to use two but am not sure how to do it. The wig is ok but I wish I knew how to make it look more real on me. Is there a way to mix my own hair with the hair on the wig? That would be a perfect solution. This has really been a bad 3 years for me. 1st the car accident, then a 15 lb tumor on my ovary, then I lost my right foot and part of the leg in March of 07. So can it get any worse? Hope NOT.Can you think of a way to help me with my problem? I would so appreciate it. A God send is what it would be. I love my hair or I did. I was naturally curly but now I'm grateful just to have some. Ya know? Sorry for feeling sorry for myself. Don't usually do that. Back to the problem...where were we??? Oh yeah...can we mix my hair with the hair on the wig to make it look more natural? The ponies ...how would it look best if I used 2 ?The ponies are the drawstring kind. I got them at Sallys Beauty Supply here in town. They have some extensions but I don't think I could use them and none of the salons here doo them . Think I could just practice and get it right? Please get back in touch if you don't think I'm crazy by now. Thanks and Thanks. Crish

Hi All,

A great place for supreme quality human hair extensions (at prices lower than the synthetic varieties) simply visit www.lovehairextensions.com - they deliver worldwide and offer a very quick and reliable service.

Their pieces come in 12" wide wefts with 6 gate clips runing along the top for ultimate in comfort and so they are un-noticeable. They do deals on 3 pieces (which by the way is more than enough for a whole head) and you can vut the hair extensions at any intervals you wish so you can make then suit your headshape perfectly. Simply remember to bond the cut ends to prevent hair from shedding.

Thanks Gush

Hi Britney,

Check out Hair Extensions and Human Hair Extensions for more information. If you are sewing a weft of hair, a zig sag stitch is often used. The methods vary depending on the type of hair extensions -- perhaps you could obtain advice regarding the specific type you have from a professional at Hair Extension Salon

how do you sew the clips onto the hair extensions? I bought some from Sallys Beauty Supply and the lady there said that all I do is sew the clips onto the top and clip them into my hair but I dont get how to sew them on there. Every time I try I mess up and they end up coming off.

It depends on how frequently you wear them. Since they can be removed, you can "conserve" them. As for when to buy new ones, well, that's a style issue -- whenever you think the old ones look like they need replacing.

Are clip in human hair extensions something that will eventually wear out? If so, how long until you should purchase new ones?
