there is no definition of an Emo.. or an Emo hairstyle, it is different for everyone, i personally believe that ( for me ) it is an expression of my individuality and not being afraid to be different, people think that Emo is a certain style, they all have long bangs, but overall they are all different in their own way, even someone with a shaven head(that could be their Emo style ) because it shows who they are. as long as you aren't following the crowd, your hair can be Emo. as for me.. i currently have long dark purple bangs, black base colour, medium spikes at the back, and bangs are gelled to a point :)

those are kinda emo but im more scene. we were bright funky chuncky colors in our hair to stand out. the weirder the better. its best to just do it yourself. personally ive done hot pink and black also platnum blonde.

well christina first you should let your hair grow out then dye it black and either cut your hair yourself or go to a really good salon and bring pics off of google and show the styleist how you want your hair done if you want to do the google then type in emo girl hair or just search through that to get an idea ive been searching too

Hi , I have a emo cut , which is black and a awesome fringe at front .. one problem is my .. back area of hair ... it can just touch my back , and i straighten it and crimp it , but it looks SO boring , i really do want short at back so i can spike ... but it makes my face look fat (thnx to photo shop) what should i do , i naturally have curly hair .. and when i straighten ... it bes wavy , than straight HELLP!

i have a real hard time taking care of my hair its not dirty or anything i just use alot of product hairspray,gell,wax,and freeze spray it destoys my hair but i haved to do it to make it look good instead of all the shit i put in my hair whats only onthing that i could use that would stay in all day and spike messup and make me llook like i just got out of bed and stay that .

I don't know a lot ebout 'emo hair' but i do know that with 'scene hair' anything is possible. You can dye it in any color as long as you have bangs and it's teased up with a lot of layers on the top. check on myspace, info enough. (by the way, most of these hair styles look rather plain&normal)

You could try a volumizing product (i.e.spray or mousse) to keep hair fuller and with more life on the top. A flexible hold finishing spray will also give more movement while still retaining shape.

Hey Liz, just get regualar highlights and you can use like reds/pink, blue, any color you want... but if your not emo, don't get an emo hair cut, cuz all the emo people will hate you! Also for emo haircuts wild colors are also okay for the highlights... like people say natural colors, but most of the times its like pink or blue...

there's something i need to know. a few months ago i had my friend put two dreadlocks in either side of my neck (the left and right corners) and i got tired of it and cut the dreads off. my hair is actually long and layered but right now i want to go for a style thats actually short layered at the back, but the front would actually be longer, like 2-3 inches than the "bob". does anyone have a picture of this particular cut that i could see? thanx.

If you want emo girl hair style, just be creative, emo is being different. Try it black, with blood red streaks, and put it over your eyes, to about below your nose. Then have it in the back to shoulders... Don't make it look like your a cheerleader, let me kinda messy!

Very true, a hair style with emo characteristics does not necessarily mean that the person follows the emo lifestyle or listens to emo music. But it is true that emo hair styles have certain characteristics themselves, even if the person wearing them isn't an emo individual.
