i personally like the long scene hair better than the short emo style..idk i just think its cuter the only prob is it requires a lot of extensions and stuff like that...but its totally worth it cuz in the end it looks rad!

Hi Meg, Getting your hair cut professionally will really help you to get the style you want. If your parents don't want you to get a really dramatic emo style, maybe you could compromise with some choppy layers and a few highlights. Good luck!

I used to bleach my hair!!! Why can't I find a person that will give me the extreme color and a perm once a year? Bleach should have ate my baby fine hair up, but I used Aveda products. Is there no way I can be shock red?

When was the term "emo" considerd a hair cutt? Emo regionates from music and a feeling, aka emotional. I think we should all reconsider our grammer these days =]

i think this website should have more pictures of girls with their hair wacky and full of wild color. i need ideas cuz im getting my hair cut soon and i dont have enough ideas. if anybody has ideas, they would be greatly appreciated. i have brown hair to my sholders with like honey blond highlights in them. i want something full of color. Darcie - You can try a new look and new color without going crazy. Consider opting for a dark hair color with some nice hair highlights, and perhaps long sideswept bangs. When you're in a professional situation, you can style your hair to keep your bangs back, no problem, but when you just want to hang out you can have a more emo look. Keep to a more natural hair color (even if it isn't your natural color) to avoid any misconceptions from future employers, and your mom!

hi, so, i want a new hairstyle. i have long, dirty blonde hair and want to keep it long, but just try something new. ..like maybe a new color and cut. the problem is that my mom is..traditional, and doesnt want me doing anything crazy. she wants it to be able to look decent for formal occasions as well as not "scare away" future employers. is there a way that i can have something new and yet keep my mom happy??? please help!!!! Sometimes an emo look can be mistaken for the Scene look. Scene is the so-called happy emo. emo kids are stereotypically known to be depressed and such, while the scene kids are known as the super hyper and, frankly much more open and daring than emo kids. the girls' hairstyle is what stands out most, with its tossled and over-teased hair. Like the emo style, its all about originality. Acessories, like clips, headbands and sometimes little tiaras are worn to add to the eye-catching-ness.

the best if you have blonde hair is to do a back panle (the underlayers of your hair)a black color it adds motion and depth

Hey... I need a medium lenght emo hairstyle that I can tease at the top and stuff. I find alot of those kinds of pics, but they never show there whole head. So if you ca n find one with the whole head showing please send to me.

Katie -- Red hair works well if you color it darker; you can add dark tips or bangs for a more emo look while keeping the red. How much you cut off is up to you; it can be a drastic change to go from long hair to a short style, and you might not like it. I'd recommend not getting the layers right away, because those can be a real pain to grow out if you want to get long hair again. Best wishes!

Ok I have to admmitI have realy long red hair about down to my butt, and i want to die it and cut it up a little with lots of layers but I don't know what color to color it and how much I should cut off? i also have blue eyes if that helps with the color sceem, can anyone give me any ideas?

I got an emo hair cut yesterday, its looks great! One word of advice that I would give though for people that really want a straight-on shag hair style, is that they should graduallyyyy make it crazier and craizer every few week to ensure that your friends wont just pass out when they see that you've chopped all your hair off and gone to a punk style. lol.
