I have been looking for this wonderful shampoo, and now I know why I can't find it! I used it in the '70s, and I can still remember the fabulous fragrance.

I ordered the Gee your hairs smells terrific from the online store also and it is not the orginal. So save your money it aint worth it and not even close!! Totally disappointed.

Blumpkin, Unfortunately we were unable to find the reason why the Jergens company ceased production of Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific. Often a product is discontinued because the sales are not as high as the company anticipated, or if sales slow a new product may be pitched instead. why did the product come to a hault in production. what was wrong or caused some kind a defect with people that made the company stoped making this product.

Chris - It's very likely that formulas have been changed over the years; finding retro products that are as accurate as the originals can be a major challenge.

Just for reference, the Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific Shampoo that the Vermont Country Store sells is NOT the original shampoo as I found out and was very disappointed.
