I've heard that strands of cut hair can penetrate the hairdressers skin and grow into it. Is this true, or is it an urban myth?

I had a hair chemical applied to my hair on February 24,2008. The hair dresser then spilled the hair chemical in my eye. I wished I had read your article before going to hair salon. I had to go the doctor where he diagnosed me with having chemical conjunctivitis. Now I am wondering if I sue the owner. If you have any suggestions please let me know
