Thank you for sharing your experience and tips, Noel!
-- Contributed by: MayntzTyler - You can check with different wig manufacturers to see what styles they have. If you can't find an emo wig you like, you can get one that is the right hair color and texture and have it professionally styled into the emo look you're interested in.
-- Contributed by: MayntzHuman hair wig is extremely nice. But you have to have to choose a center which is specialised on wigs. Because they will mold it on your scalp so that it may be properly fixed. The scalp net that should be used should be hesame color of the real scalp. Properly fixed wigs cant be removed even with strong winds and commuting on public buses where u will be exposed with the winds or even in the airplane stairway... I used senthetic wigs before but it doesnt give u confidence.
-- Contributed by: NoelMy names tyler im a 17 years old male and i got alopacia 2 but i got the kind that u loose all ur hair not just patches and it dont grow back and i was wondering if there are any real emo looking guy wigs because i would really enjoy buying something that looked real that matches my style
-- Contributed by: TylerHi Madelyn, You may want to see this Expert Interview on Choosing Wigs for ideas. Also some vintage styles, like sixties flips, are coming back. They are still not tremendously common, so a vintage style would be cute and unusual. Take care and best of luck!

-- Contributed by: MayntzMy Aunt is about to go into chemo, I have very long hair and I want to have it made into a wig for her. Do you have any suggestions?
-- Contributed by: Shannon murphyMelissa - It takes 10-12 donations of hair to make one full wig, so it's not possible to have one person's hair made into a full wig. These articles offer more information about how to donate hair and making wigs: Locks of Love, Donating Hair for Cancer Victims, and Free Wigs for Cancer Patients.
-- Contributed by: MayntzMy mother-in-law is potentially going to need chemo, and she has a massive amount of hair. She wants to have it made into a wig, do you know any place that would do that for her? Thanks
-- Contributed by: MelissaTracy - We are not a wig manufacturer or retailer, and we do not buy hair. In fact, most wig manufacturers do not buy hair - they rely on donations. You could, however, contact individual manufacturers and see what their individual policies are.
-- Contributed by: MayntzI writing to inquire about selling my hair.I have a very rare natural color that I have never chemically treated. It is a deep brown with natural red highlights. My mother has jet black hair and my father bright red, so I got a wonderful combination. Please let me know if you purchase hair and how much you pay.Thank you for your time.Tracy Stansbury
-- Contributed by: Tracy StansburyAmy - Unfortunately, it takes 10+ donations of long hair to make a single wig, so it won't be possible to make a wig for your grandmother just from your hair. You can check out Free Wigs for Cancer Patients though, for some ideas on getting free or inexpensive wigs.
-- Contributed by: MayntzMy grandmother is having chemotherapy done and has lost 98% of her hair already. Is there someone out there who can make her a wig CHEAP from my hair?
-- Contributed by: AmyI want partical full lace with top of wig completely out. The wig will only be on the side and back. I will have my natural hair out. I would like to get the lace stretch band material around the parimeter of wig about half inch in from where the hair begins. I will be using the band to sew the lace wig on. I plan to have my natural hair line out around my entire head. Please let me know if this is doable. I can be reached at 609-383-9396 US.
Not sure I am going get highlights around top of wig. But will discuss with you.
-- Contributed by: LillieCharlie -- There are many custom wig makers you can contact, but most human hair wigs require donations from 8-12 heads to make a thick, well-constructed wig. Your friend's hair could certainly be incorporated, however. I'd suggest searching for local wigmakers or anyone close by that could offer an evaluation after seeing your friend's hair in person.
-- Contributed by: MayntzI also have a friend starting chemotherapy but she wants to have a wig made fron her own hair. She has beautiful hair down to her ankles. Is there a custom, real hair maker out there?
Thanks Charlie

-- Contributed by: sachin goelHi Ann, While many wig makers do not provide this service, there are a few places that will make wigs from hair you provide. However, custom wigs are very expensive, and often take a long time to make. Also, depending on your hair, it may not be appropriate for wigmaking, or the firm may need to supplement it with additional hair from another source.
For custom wig making from hair you provide, try getting in touch with World of Wigs of Santa Ana, CA or Hairline Illusions in NY.
Our thoughts are with you and your friend,
