Will - We are not a wig manufacturer and do not accept donations of hair. You can contact individual manufacturers to see what their requirements are (see Donating Hair for Cancer Victims), but most require hair to be at least 10" because so much is lost in the wig-making process. Each company varies, though, and you may be able to find one that would gladly accept your hair.

my 6 yr. old daughter has long straight beautiful hair and she wants to cut it short. were can i go, or were can i send, her hair. i want to donate it to cancer patients that want it. i dont want to trash it.

I have been growing my hair to donate as part of a fundraiser. I won't make it to 10" but at least 7". My hair is thick but is probably 25% gray. How do I donate my hair that you will sell?

Selena - Of course men can donate; hair doesn't have gender. In fact, men's hair may be even better because it likely hasn't been subjected to as much harsh styling or as many chemicals as women's hair.

My husband has a ponytail and wants to donate it because he works at a hospital and he sees the cancer patient young kids there and it breaks his heart.Can men donate?

I have been growing out my hair for two years and finally I got my long locks cut today. They took 14 1/2 inches off of my hair. I hope the child that my hair will bring a smile as it did when I was getting it cut.

I have donated my hair 3 times so far and I am 17 years old. It is a joy to know that your hair is grown for a purpose. That purpose being to brighten up a childs day. I am nervous everytime I do it because i have an attachment to my hair, however it is a good cause and mine will grow back.
