Hi Maddi, Look at your face in the mirror and try to see what shape it most resembles. For example, if you have a narrow forehead and narrow chin, you probably have a diamond face shape. -- Contributed by: pamelaI'd suggest going with a medium style or layers so you don't have as drastic a change to your look. You might think you really want something different, but if you've had long hair for years it can be a shock to see yourself without it! -- Contributed by: MayntzI want to change my hairstyle because it has been almost the same ever since i was a kid, its long. I want something short but my face is kind of oval but not long.

-- Contributed by: anonymousi'm getting a haircut and want a cut that is layered and can be dyed and still look great. is it better to straighten your layers to give it a better look ?
-- Contributed by: KimI haven't gone short with my hair ever since I was a little kid, and my face has changed so much since then. I can't even figure out the shape of my face now. I have long hair, going just past my shoulder blades, but the layer under is quite a bit shorter do to horrible bleach job done by a bad stylist, and I'm looking for a new look. All my friends insist on me getting a mohawk, and I want to, but I'm scared. Mohawks take forever to grow out and if you look horrible, the only thing you can do is shave your head, and I don't want to have to do that.
I was thinking of staying long, staying with the black colour I have, but adding really choppy but still long layers. I came to this decision after debating in my head forever. The real style I want is short layers on top; short enough to fauxhawk, with really long, choppy layers underneath, and some type of bang. I'd also like three-line line-up's, but that's pretty crazy. If you've ever seen pictures of people who've got ton's of hair and manage to get the top into a fauxhawk,
If you look at Avril Lavigne's hair, that's something like I'd like to achieve. Her hair is long, but it looks pointed and separated at the ends, I think it's gorgeous, and would actually work for me. I know my best idea would be to consult a stylist, but I'd probably just confuse them. I don't have the money to add in extentions, unless I get the clip in ones, but those are a hassle.
I love the shaggy, outrageous, punk, choppy, a-third-grader-just-cut-my-hair look, but I don't know how to incorporate that into my long hair, and I'm not willing to go short, lest I look like a boy. I cut and dye my bestfriends hair all the time, and it always comes out awesome, and I get so jealous.
I guess I'm pretty confused and aggrivated with my hair. I haven't had a change in a long time, and I'm just dying to get something new.
I took this picture off the Toni&Guy website, but I can't post it, but it'll show you what I mean. You'll know it if you saw it. Nothing completely this drastic though. I wish I could afford going to their salon, but it's a bit out of my range. So, I don't know, I'm looking for advice, I've been looking for advice for a long time, and maybe you can help me.
-- Contributed by: Chelsya......same... just get longish but layered so u dont get sick of it
-- Contributed by: shollandi'm trying to look for the perfect haircut. i think i'm too afraid to cut it too short (even medium) but i'm getting sick of my long hair style. i also have another problem: i'm in volleyball which requires my hair pulled back into a ponytail with no hair falling out. the problem is that i want a layered look which will have strands of hair hanging out. i just cut my hair about a month ago, but i think i'm looking for a little shorter style - but not too short!
