Thank you for sharing your experience, Jenn. It is always important to check out different salons and read reviews, but nothing beats personal experience with finding one you like.
-- Contributed by: MayntzCitysearch is not the best option to find a salon. I have given it soo many chances and I always end up so unhappy with my hair... the reason? I read the reviews and fall for it but so many of these salons write their own reviews.

-- Contributed by: MayntzI want to donate my hair for wigs for cancer victims. Where can i go that knows the requirements and can cut it for free. I am a cancer victim and would rather donate my locks before chemo causes them to fall out.
Where can I find a salon in Long Beach, CA???
-- Contributed by: NickHi Devin, Your best bet is to visit a professional colorist. In order to get extreme looks, such as the white and blue you mentioned, color may need to be stripped from your hair. While strong hair products won't necessarily make you lose your hair, continuous and extreme coloring can be damaging to the hair, so you'll want to use a high quality conditioner and keep your hair moisturized to keep it healthy.

You should investigate some different ones to check out their programs and decide if you like where they are and how they teach. Also check their tuition prices and whether or not they offer financial aid and career assistance. Best wishes!

If her school only has "local" resources and she is determined to move away, consider the areas where she would like to go - perhaps a larger city that is not as far away as LA for her first position, and gradually move further as she gains experience. Keep in mind the cost of living in many major cities is going to be much higher than in your local area. I also recommend the local "craigslist" (www.craigslist.org) for any area to which she'd like to relocate. Good luck!
-- Contributed by: Ann M.My 18 year old daughter has just finished her cosmetology program in Abilene Texas. Of couse she wants to move away from home---work--apt etc. I would like to see if I could arrange---somehow---a work--intern--mentor situation for her---by one of these talented/ people, where she could really learn some skills. She is a beautiful nice naive midwestern girl. I am her father---could you all please give me some advice?
