Chris - Whether or not you develop more chest hair depends a lot on your age. If you're younger than 30, odds are you've not yet developed all your body hair, so yes, you should get more chest hair as you get older. If you're older, however, that may just be the hair pattern you have - it's all up to genetics.

The hair on my chest grows very sparse / random yet my trail of hair across my stomach is very thick. Am I likely to get more chest hair?

D, Weaves or extensions cannot usually be use on chest hair. Some men do undergo chest hair transplants, but it's rare. Some men find that their chest hair growth naturally increases or thickens as they age so you may want to just make peace with your natural chest hair for now and see what nature dishes out. Best wishes.

Sandra - Different people react differently to hair removal. Check out Hair Removal Pain Relief for ideas on how to make it less painful, or consider shaving instead of waxing. The results won't last as long, that's true, but it would still have a nice feeling for that type of trial.

Just doing some research as I plan to wax my very hairy male friend and want to do a very good, almost professional job of it (he's too embarassed to go to a beautician plus I don't judge). I think if you were that hairy you should at least once in your life know what it's like to feel silky smooth. Even with girls and brazillians, it's a completely different feeling wearing underwear, or a pair of jeans after having your legs waxed, etc. Why shouldn't guys have that pleasure too? Personally I think a hairy back is very offputting, so while Aliss' comments are blunt, I'd tend to agree (and, to 'give my age away', I'm 19) simply because a) hairy backs are not aesthetically pleasing b) feeling so much stubble would not be very nice, let alone bed it.

I plan to wax all his back hair off, but am having some problems deciding what I would do to his chest hair, I don't want it to be too painful, but at the same time I don't want to leave so much hair that it would look simply odd when compared to his back. Any tips?

Kashish - You could use a hair removal cream or shave. Try different methods to find out what works best for your needs and the texture and density of your hair.

I was curious to know if my husband's chest hair was normal, since he's got a ton on his back, arms and chest so I was looking it up online. It sounds like every guy varies! He just has a lot of testosterone! Doesn't seem like something to worry about. Just gets bushy when it's not trimmed.

Well Aliss looks like you gave your age away. Only young girls react as you have in the comment section. To look at and touch a manly chest is very erotic. When I see hairless males, I am reminded of little boys, definitely ugh!

Ugh. What a repulsive topic. Sorry! It was well written and well researched, just gag-worthy, that's all. Just one thing that caused me to wonder: Shaving chest hair? I don't think so... have you ever seen the chest of a man who has a week's worth of growth on his chest? If a woman's idea of kinky sex includes being impaled by a human bed of nails, then maybe shaving chest hair is a nifty idea. Otherwise, for the gorilla-chested guy who can't afford a chest waxing, how about a few jars of Nair? Ask your girlfriend or wife to buy it for you for your birthday. I'm sure she'll be only too happy to oblige.
