Becky - Any strong chemicals can cause hair loss and damage if left on the hair too long. You'll want to read the instructions carefully before you begin, and test the hair as you go along to be sure the product is working as desired. You might also try other straightening methods to find one that will work well on this girl's hair, but be aware that young children's hair can be more delicate and more susecptible to damage if treated harshly.

Hi does anyone know if I can use Matrix opti smooth resistant on a 10 year old child? she is mixed and has the fuzzy hair but wants it straight. I have been told that if it was left on to long it could make her hair fall out? anybody ever heard that? Thanks

Stylists can often combine dyes or colors to get a different type of shade. If your hair still has that shade, or if you have pictures from when it was first dyed, you should be able to find another stylist who can approximate the hue for you. Just be aware that results may vary with every treatment, particularly when mixing colors -- a slight change in the proportions can change the final color.

My stylist used Matrix Color Sync 6RB and said she did something different with it to make it a Cherry Cola color. It was like a deep burgundy instead of a light brown. She has moved and no one here seems to know what I am talking about. Can you help?

Jessica - Probably the fact that you left it in much longer the second time, plus it was starting with a darker base, is what has made it much darker. Over time it will fade a bit, or you could add some careful hair highlights to lighten up the color.

i used 6rb color sync and it wasnt dark enough so applied again and left on 20 more min.Now its too dark. Will it still fade out or will i have a grow out line? Am I stuck with really dark hair? Just wondering if applying it twice makes it stick to hair more.
