-- Contributed by: MayntzEmmy - Layers wouldn't help the frizzy nature of your hair too much, since they actually add more ends to the style. Instead, if you do want layers, be sure the top one is the longest so it can help keep your waves tamer. You also want to be sure your hair is properly conditioned so it isn't frizzing because of dryness. To lengthen your face, you'll want to have the ends of your hair longer than your chin, and avoid a center part that would lengthen the midline of your face.
-- Contributed by: MayntzMcKayla - You can try different hair accessories like head bands and barrettes instead of trying for a ponytail. Or embrace your waves with a bit of mousse to keep them from getting frizzy and enjoy the loose look with your hair.
-- Contributed by: Mayntzi have hair that is to the middle of my back and im going in to the 7th grade & im 12 years old can i have any tips
-- Contributed by: dakotaHi, I have dark blonde, medium-length hair that stops just below my shoulders and that's quite thick, wavy and frizzy. I want a new hairstyle before I start college but I'm having trouble thinking of ideas. Ideally I'd like to keep my waves and the length of my hair, but they're just too frizzy right now - would getting layers help? Also I have a round face, so something that combines waves and lengthening out my face would be great. Thanks! :)
-- Contributed by: EmmyOkay. I have short brown hair that is layered.. It is about to my shoulders. I have side bangs.. It cant quite go up in a pony tail yet.. It seems like i always straighten it and its naturally wavey but when i scrunch it, it looks really short. Im not quite sure on what to do....
-- Contributed by: McKaylaHi Ali, Thick hair actually takes perms very well, so if you want semi-permanent curl, that's one option. You might also try using some professional styling products in conjunction with a curling iron or rollers to shape hair and help hold curl better, such as a texturizing spray. Bumble and Bumbleâs Surf Spray is one that stylists recommend. Good luck!
-- Contributed by: Amy FinleyHey im Ali my hair is very thick and dark brown it wont hold curl at all is there anything i could do to make it hold curl?
-- Contributed by: AliHi Megan, You may want to take a look at the article on hairstyles for round faces, or on medium curly hairstyles for ideas. Best of luck!
-- Contributed by: Amy FinleyHI Vanessa, There are lots of style ideas you can try with your current hair length, or there are some great medium to long styles you can try without bangs, like a shoulder length cut with piecy ends. A couple articles that might help you are Cute Teen Hair Styles, Teen Hair Style Pictures, Medium Hair Style Pictures, and Long Hair Style Picture Gallery.
-- Contributed by: Amy FinleyHI I'm Megan and im 13 years old. My hair is curly and red (strawberry). I like the curls but when my hair is long the disapear and when its long my face looks droopy. My face is round. I dont want my hair above my chin. Do you have any ideas? I have bangs and they curl so i straighten them. the style I was using used alot of product i want somthing simplier THANKS
-- Contributed by: meganmy hair is reaally dark brown and down to the top of my boobs. its pretty straight most of the time, but it gets wavy after tying it. i have a side bang thats growing out but i really hate it!!! i got my hair cut so instead of having layers its now all the same length at the bottom...i was thinking of getting a long or medium shag.. but i can't have bangs cuz i have a small forehead! also, i have to keep my hair longer than my shoulders for dance so does anyone have any ideas? i can't dye my hair either as im not allowed to
-- Contributed by: VanessaHannah - What looks best for you depends on a lot of factors, but you can check out How to Grow Your Hair Long and Long Hair Care for tips on getting it as long as you'd like. Layers can help add texture to a straight style as well, or consult a stylist for advice on what will work for you.
-- Contributed by: Mayntzmy hair is down to by shoulders, but i want it to boob lenght. the type of hair i have is frizzy, and afro-curley. I even measured it once (how big it is) and it was 6 inches! my face is round shaped. i do strighted my hair (with a chi strightener) what would look best on me?
-- Contributed by: hannahJoyce - a long to short hair makeover can be a huge step. You may want to try Medium Length Hair first, just to get used to the idea for a few months. As for what style would look best, you can consult with a stylist about that, including how much time you want to spend styling your hair and how easy you want the look to be. Best wishes!
-- Contributed by: MayntzI am a teen and have had my hair long my whole life. i want to go short, like chin length (possibly some bangs). Will a chin-lenght bob look to old (in a bad way) on me? And if i'm not sure about bangs should i go heavy or light?
-- Contributed by: joyceLaura - From what you describe, that type of tapered, layered style would work well for you. Print out the picture and take it to your stylist so they can see what you're interested in, and trust their judgement on any variations that may look even better for you.
-- Contributed by: MayntzI have a heart shaped, but fairly full face. While I am not overweight, I am a big girl. I like the first medium hairstyle on this page, could that work for my face shape?
-- Contributed by: LauraLauren - If you want to still wear a ponytail, avoid layered hair styles because you won't catch all the hair when you put it up. Check out Ponytails and Easy Pony Tail Styles for great looks you can try.
-- Contributed by: MayntzIm lauren, I am 16 and I have very long hair(it sort of in between brown and blond, more brown though). I want to go short (about shoulder length or so) but i need a hair style that will easily be thrown in a pony tail because i play sports. my face is fairly round/ a little bit oval and i dont know what to do? suggestions?
-- Contributed by: laurenKatherine - A quick way to jazz up any style is with the right Hair Accessories. You can try a fun hair clip or pin, a head band, or a barrette for a fun and easy look without needing a lot of products.
-- Contributed by: MayntzI just recently cut my hair a little below my shoulders, and i want something interesting to do with it. I have a bit of layers, and i don't have much styling products at home. Any ideas on how to spruce it up a bit?
-- Contributed by: KatherineCheryl - You could try sideswept bangs if you want to make your forehead less prominent, or look for a nice layered hair style to add volume to your locks.
-- Contributed by: MayntzI have very fine, straight, and thin hair about 2-4 inches past my shoulders. I have an oblong face and a 2 1/2 inch (5 finger) forehead. Any suggestions as to how I should wear my hair?
-- Contributed by: CherylI have sort of in the middle hair you know like it is almost wavy hair and most of the time i just do not know what to do so i just brush it hope that it stays down.
-- Contributed by: ashleyKelsie - I'd recommend using simple curlers on your upper layers as you let your hair air dry; that will help give it a little more structure so it can be wavy throughout. You could also scrunch the top layers with your fingers as they're drying and add a little mousse or spray to help them keep a bit wavy.
-- Contributed by: Mayntzi have thick brown hair that goes just below my shoulders. i usually straighten it, but if i leave it air dry, it gets a pretty curl/wave. I would like to wear it like this more often, but the only problem is that my top layer stays staight no matter what i do and looks kinda funny. any tips?
-- Contributed by: kelsieI have fine, very straight black/brown hair that's just past my shoulders. I have a heart-shaped face and from past experience, don't look good with short bobs. I'd like layers as my hair is a bit flat on my face. what do you recommend?
-- Contributed by: MaddieJessica -- To help lengthen your face, don't start the layers until they hit your chin. This will help flatten the upper part of your style to keep from adding more pouf. You might also want the front ends tapered to help frame your face smoothly so the cut doesn't look choppy. Check out Hairstyle for Shape of Face for more inforrmation.
-- Contributed by: MayntzI have fine hair and want a medium to long cut with layers, and I have a round face. What do you recomend?

-- Contributed by: Amy FinleyHi,
I am 12 turning soon, and I have medium, boring browny/blonde hair.
I was wondering if you could give me some pointers of how I could make my hair look more lively before my new cut next week?
The date is 6/4/07
Thanks,

-- Contributed by: Laurasee, im looking for a emo hair cut and i need to get my bangs layered and stuff. but idk what im looking for. ive cut my bangs and now i dont even know if it will go to the style i want....:(

-- Contributed by: MackKat, you might want to try some Hair Highlights to liven up your style without being too drastic. You could also try growing your hair out but that would take quite some time, but since you only have a few layers, it would still work.
-- Contributed by: Mayntzhi,im a 28yr old married mom who is getting tired of the same hair do and im searching for something a lil different,i have medium length(at shoulders)and slightly layered...i try new things for eyeshadow also...need help..thanx:(
-- Contributed by: katKarissa, When your stylist does your hair, you need to ask him or her how to do it at home. A good stylist will be happy to show you and even have you try it in front of him or her...
hi there, ive found the perfect cut and color in a picture on google, but after i get it done how can i style my hair to keep it this way? I know they will do all this the first time at the salon, but im not in any way sure how to make my hair do this the next day! HELP1 if you need me too, i can send you a picture of the style and my current hair so you know how to work with the way my natural hair is. PLEASE HELP!!!
-- Contributed by: Karissa HaleLea - You should first try using curl controlling and frizz controlling shampoos and conditioners. As for the Split Ends, trimming them is the only way to get rid of them. Those tips may help you control the curls - the frizz may be from hair that is too dry, so try a leave-in conditioner too. Once you get that under control, you can start to look at other styles.
Kelsey - If you'd like your layers to show more, consider Hair Highlights to add texture. As for the bangs, I have sideways bangs too and I keep them almost as long as the rest of my hair and just push them to the side a bit. If yours are shorter and are in your way, consider a little Hair Gel or Hair Spray to help keep them under control.
-- Contributed by: Mayntzhi im a 12 year old and i really dont like my hair i get the same all the time sholder length with layers and they hardley show and i hate that i have side ways bangs but really what do you do with them? are you supposed to pull them back or what?? please help i dont know what i should do with my hair!!

-- Contributed by: NeaBobs are very stylish and easy to take care of -- the main thing to look into is how it will work with the shape of your face and texture of your hair. If you're concerned it will be too drastic, go for one of the longer bobs!
-- Contributed by: Ann M.Hey. Im 12 years old and my hair is not naturally straight. I need help! I'm going to a "dance" and i know what I'm weraing, but Don't know what to do with my hair!(medium length thick straight hair, off-black) Please Help!
-- Contributed by: KelseyI am a twelve year old girl with long, brown, layered hair. I refuse to straighten it or curl, highlight, dye, etc., my hair. I am getting bored with the style. What should I do? Would a bob be to drastic?
-- Contributed by: calLiz, You probably don't want to layer it since that often just adds more body. If you do feel utterly compelled to layer it, ask your stylist for long, angled layers. The best way to deal with it is to work with it -- many people with thick hair find that growing it out long helps tame it a little because the weight of your hair pulls it down. There are products that help, too. I haven't tried it, but I know people who swear by Paul Mitchell's "Super Skinny Serum" and I recently tried Tigi Bed Head's "Extra Extra Straight" spray -- it is awesome. It really helps smooth and tame thick hair. Good luck and let us know how you're doing.
-- Contributed by: Ann M.uumm I have thick hair and in the morning before school i like straighintg it and it takes forever and i want to know how to make is thinner should I layer it? or what should I do please someone help me
