knox gelatin is the best thing for mowhawks. it stays in for 5-7 days and is hard as a rock but washes out when you want it to. and its really cheap.

Got 2 Be Gels and Hairsprays are the best. You can sleep and wake up, but the hair is still the same =)

well I have a mohawk,I use the got 2 B glued hair spray, and it works good for the top but not the back. does anyone know something better spray or gel? or have any tips? thanks

originality!! you dont need ides from others, just get a bunch of things together that you like, take colors ideas and shapes from that, and you have yourself an idea. i also suggested sketching. :)

I have very long & curly hair with standard-issue bangs, and have had great results dying just the tips of my bangs and the ends of the longer sections of hair a radical color (usually red.) I also have a lot of grey going on (I'm 48), and it's fun how the different tones and textures of hair pick up the color differently. (I don't do any bleaching or other color changes first.) The streaking brings out the texture of the curls, too. It's not an especially "punk" look -- I'd say more it's more fun and artsy. (More Cyndi than Marilyn Manson.) It's great, too, when I have my hair up in a bun to have this fairly "safe" hairstyle with outre color. Keeps 'em guessing...

Punk was invented in the 70's not 80's :) And if you really want punk hair you shouldnt be looking for approval of others , also take into account shock value .. What will ppl not like ? Come up with something crazy and there you have your knew hair =)

Julie - Your skin color does matter for your hair color, but it's really personal preference. If you have darker skin, the black tips won't be quite as prominent, but if you have paler skin they will stand out more. Since you are considering just coloring the tips, however, the contrast to your skin won't be as noticeable either way. I think the look will really be great!

I have naturally dark blonde hair, never been dyed, so I'm looking forward to trying something new. I'd like to get it cut a couple inches shorter, (as of now my hair is half way down my back) get layers, and black tips at the ends of my layers. How would this look? ADVICE PLEASE ASAP. Does skin colour matter?

Benji - You might try some colored clip on hair extensions or temporary colors that are generally less harsh than heavy chemical treatments. You can also create a punk style without changing the color at all.

punk here our hair is just a single factor...my hair is one color thank you very much. and only someone of ignorance would associate punks with goths or emos.even thou the outcome of our actions may be the same. the way we get there is much different. Its not were your going. its how you get there.

Punk is the only way i roll 9 inch mowhawk, neon green with pink tips and yellow base, i dont like to see fauxhawks, because they are chickenhawks... it doesnt require the commitment of a true mowhawk. it's saying... i want to be unique, but not all the time. so i respect anyone and everyone who goes for the most outrageous cuts they can dream up... and if you want to go punk... go punk all the way! enjoy your fun while it lasts guys you only are an adolescent once!

i'm punk. i do my own hair, i have wash out color.. that way; i can do whatever color i feel.. i'm one of the few that can actually pull off a lot of colors in your hair, it's just how i do it.. i love to style and cut my own hair, dying it.. my sister does that :)

I got mine dyed turquise and it is really, really, crazy kinda like a mohawk/libertyspikes/sidvicious/emo type thing. But mohawks keep becoming more conformed, so I suggest a really outrageous mohawk (in any aspect-coler,height,etc.) or another style. Punk isn't about impressing anybody - be yourself!and be uniqe!

Alyssa you can get an emo hair cut by checking out hair style magazines clip the picture of the one you crave then take it to a hair salon and they will take care of it but remember if you want a crzy emo hair cut be fearles once you get there go for it i"ve been emo for the longest and its a amazing thing ,these were just some tips,check out Fuse.net,VampireFreaks.com for the community me myself im just an emo chic.being emo is an amazing experience.
