Thanks for sharing, Leila, and have fun with your shag!

I recently got a shag haircut and I love it. It's so low-maintenance... When I get out of the shower, all I have to do is scrunch it a bit, apply some product and I'm done. Once it's dry, it has that messy-on-purpose look that I'd been looking for.

Vanessa - If your wave is very strong it could become curly when it's cut short, though some waves don't continue in short hair and you won't have to worry. It just depends on how strong it is naturally.

I want to get a shag cut, but my hair has a wave in it, should I be worried about it? (I usually straighten my hair, and it's never been that short!)

if you want it to look like the pictures above, straightening your hair would probably be best. Though, some people have pulled that look off with wavy hair. I also have wavy hair and looking for something managable. i would say go for it. why not? you only live once.

Jose, A shag hairstyle can work on many hair types, and some volume can work well witht his look. If you don't like the waves, you can blow dry it for try a straightening iron. Hi.

I may be new to this, but let's see ...

I have short thick wavy hair, and I took the liberty to browse around and find different hair styles that may be suitable for me. I was looking for something that's going to be easy to manage. I looked in this category of the Shag hairstyle that I find appealing.

I wanted to know if it's possible for me to get a shag hair style with my type of hair.

I would appreciate the feedback from anyone.

Thanks

Amanda - Everyone can have different reactions to hair dye -- thanks for sharing this tip to be cautious!

a tip: DONT DYE YOUR HAIR BLACK it makes your hair fall out / makes you allergic to things i have medium brown hair and im getting lowlites (darker borwn) put in my hair to make it look darker! (last time i got orange/pink/blonde streaks)

Sarah - You could just try a nice bob with tapered layers. That will give you a bit more volume and still be easy to style. Add frosted or dyed tips or highlights for more texture and contrast to create the type of look you're interested in.

Hi I'm 18 an I have an oval shaped face with just about shoulder length thin dark brown hair and blue eyes. I have experimented before with short hairstyles and couldn't find a good one to match my facial features, I really enjoy the easiness and look of short hair and would like to find something to suit my look, which is goth/punk. Someone please help!
