Xtiana, Since previous coloring may have caused additional dryness in your hair, you may need some deep conditioning treatments in addition to your standard conditioning, drinking water, and getting regular trims. You might also try a professional leave in conditioner to help keep your hair moisturized and healthy. You might also consider using natural hair products; these are often more beneficial for hair.

Tabitha - Split ends are natural and will happen to the best of hair. I'd recommend drinking more water for the natural moisture, and be sure you are getting regular trims (every 6-8 weeks) to clip off splits and keep your style fresh.

I don't have naturally dry or brittle hair, I have never colored my hair, I have permed it back in like 1990 and I drink a lot of water but my hair still has split ends. By the way I don't blow dry or use anything else that is hot. I use leave in conditioners and when i wash my hair i leave the conditioner on for at least 2min. What else can I do??

Heather - Some people just naturally get split ends more easily. Try getting regular trims more frequently, and consult a professional stylist for their opinion on how to help keep your hair in top condition.

Sneha - You'll need to get your hair moisturized to help prevent split ends. Use a good quality conditioner, be sure you are drinking plenty of water, and try to avoid heat styling your hair. These steps can help keep split ends from happening, but you'll need to trim all the ends you have off before the hair can really recover. Best wishes!

my hair is long but lots of split in my hair and my hair is dry

Holly - Be sure you are eating a diet for healthy hair and drinking plenty of water to keep your hair moisturized from the inside out. Also use a good quality conditioner regularly, even daily on the ends of your hair to keep them from splitting as much. You may need trims more frequently to remove damage if the ends break easily, and be sure you aren't using accessories that pull or tear your strands.
