Haleigh - As your hair gets shorter, it will get more volume -- it depends on how you cut it and how short you go. To help keep the puffiness under control, consider getting slight layers with the topmost layer (from the crown) as the longest to help weigh it down. You can also try sedu styles to help smooth out your hair. Best wishes!

Straight long and Medium fringe would look good too

-- Contributed by: Chelsea

A short and flat haircut that curls at the end is cute, too!

I have VERY thick hair and i want my hair cut shorter !! Do u think it will look puffy??

-- Contributed by: Haleigh

Hi Makeiah, A medium length layered cut can give you lots of options. Choppy layers can add definition to your hair for a modern look. Or, try a shoulder length cut with long layers and with razor cut ends - the razor cut makes the ends flip up a little bit for a very cute look. Talon, A couple of suggestions for you: 1)Getting a trim may help reduce dry ends and frizz. 2) Keep your hair moisturized. Use a high-quality conditioner with natural ingredients -- many coarse/curly hair types don't respond well to chemical conditioners. A natural leave-in conditioner can also help maintain moisture and reduce frizz. 3) Relaxers can work well on many hair types to make curls more manageable, but I would recommend getting this procedure done at the a salon. A couple articles with more info. for you:

I'm getting a hair cut this or next saturday. I'm thirteen, turning 14 soon. I have straight long hair which is around 2-3 inches from my belly button. My face is round abd abit chubby. I need an interesting hairstyle which would slim my face, and I don't want to perm it curly or use any hair products like hairspray. Please give me some pictures/suggestions? I don't want to end up hating my hair.

-- Contributed by: Hannah.

Sarah - You may want to investigate a few layers to lighten up your hair and give it more bounce and movement without needing products. Tapered ends can be stylish and easy, and consider offset swoop bangs that will blend into the sides of your hair without needing frequent styling. Best wishes!

-- Contributed by: Mayntz

i need a style for thick, wavy hair , easy to do in the morning and that does'nt require many products.

-- Contributed by: sarah

Mariya - I'd recommend opting for medium length hair in a nice wash-and-wear style. The slight curl will give it visual interest, and because your hair is thick, you shouldn't need anything to volumize your locks. If you wear it too long, however, it can weigh down and appear limp. With a medium length style, you can also opt for a fast ponytail or half ponytail for a quick and easy change.

i need a style for thick slightly curly hair and it is easy to do and you dont need many products i dont want to straighten it though and have it down

Jess - To lower your frizz, be sure to check for split ends and get a trim if necessary. A smoothing serum can help as well, and be sure your hair is well conditioned and moisturized. i have a square face with a more prominent jaw line and at the moment i have long (half way down back) hair with longer layers. im going on a trip soon were i wont have time to do my hair in the mornings and the hairstyle i have now requires a lot of maintenance. does anyone have any suggestions what shorter and easier to maintain hairstyle would still look good on me? links with pictures would help a lot too!

-- Contributed by: Sabrina

I have a heart shaped face and waist lenght, light brown hair. i have always had long hair and im ready for a change. I was thinking about maybe trimming it so thats its halfway between my shoulders and my elbow, but im not sure.i also want long layers and some highlights. Also, do you have and good ideas for preventing frizzyness? If you do please share because i would love to hear suggestions.Thank you :)

-- Contributed by: Michelle

I have a round face, and very thick long hair... I want to cut it short, because i live where it is hot and i am going to be doing marching band this summer (on a black top). It gets up the the hundreds. I really want a short hair cut so i wont be dieing. Any suggestions?

-- Contributed by: Lily

Angela - If you are nervous about getting a shorter style, I'd recommend just going a little shorter first to see how you like the different look. You could try a length slightly below your shoulders, and opt for long layers to add volume, texture, and flair. Some hair highlights may also help perk up your style without dramatically changing the length. Best wishes!

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bored wit my hair I'm thinkin' of cuttin' it I think Im gonna 'cause short hair is in!

-- Contributed by: Miranda

Sarah -- It sounds like you have natural waves or curls that are interfering with the straight look you crave. I'd recommend using some hair gel when your ponytail is still a bit damp to help it hold a straighter shape, and grow it out longer to add more weight that will help keep it smooth.

-- Contributed by: Mayntz

I want my hair to be flat like everyone elses when it's in a pony-tail, but I'm not sure if I need to grow it before it flops down instead of twists around. I have semi-naturally straight hair, but it's like I need to straighten my hair EVERY day for it to go how I want it.

-- Contributed by: Sarah

Well, I'm trying my best to find out how to make myself look Emo, but I have curly hair and I don;t know any hairstyles that are curly for Emo's. So if you guys know anything please tell me. thnx

-- Contributed by: Samantha

emo is a way of life, if you dont believe me then you dont know "emo" as you call it. yeah it may have once just been from "EMOtional" but not anymore. and emo girls usually go exteme i know girls with long hair and it is usually the color and short bangs straight across the face, black with hints of red, blue, or pink are really hot, and the funkier and more exteme the hair the more likely a guy with notice you for being emo, especially if its an emo guy you want! hehehe!!:)

I want my hair to be unique and stuff. I dont want it to be just side bangs and long hair (as it is now) Thats what EVERYONE has. So yepp. And my hair color is naturally dirty blonde but I dye it a red auburnish color. GIVE ME ADVICE. IM DESPERATE And I also want to keep my hair still preettyy long. Anyways yeah. I know Im picky.

-- Contributed by: Annabelle

you should layer it and get streaks of a few different colours on the underneath. this will probably only work if your hair is naturally quite straight or your prepared to straighten it quite a lot... but anyway i think that'd look quite cute =D hope this helps xx

-- Contributed by: destiny dookie

Whether you layer your style or not is really up to you. Remember that layers can take a long time to grow out if you don't like them, and they can be harder to put in updos or ponytails if you frequently do things like that. You could try just a few layers first to see if you like it, something around the face first to see how it would look.

-- Contributed by: Mayntz

I have medium blonde hair and it is quite thick. Do you think I should get it layered?

-- Contributed by: emma

Rachel,

The most "boy friendly" hair is hair that makes you look good and feel good. These things are far more important than the actual style, since boys are attracted to girls who are self confident and happy. That said, if you are looking for a new style, look at pictures that you think would work with your personal style and discuss your goals with your stylist --perhaps, you want something a little longer or flowing than you have now, or more playful?

-- Contributed by: Ann M.

Ashley, keep in mind that the more layers you have, the more styling time it will take you. That said, if you want a little more body, consider asking your stylist to "texturize" your hair -- this gives you teeny bits of layering all over and adds body to your hair -- however, keep in mind, it won't be right for you if you want a really smooth, sleek look.

-- Contributed by: Ann M.

I need a new look to make me more boy frindly do u have any tips?
